Q. Are Elite Prefab Homes & buildings manufactured, modular, prefabricated, or what?
A. They are most accurately described as EPS pollystireene foam insulated Hardy-Wall or
aluminum panelized buildings. That is, the walls are prebuilt in our plant in South Florida, just like your normal site built custom home or building. Electric & plumbing chases or
pipes are installed at our factory and when the walls are put together on site, the pipes
will line up and connect together. Texture product, paint or TEX-COAT can then be applied but, in some cases the walls are left with nothing applied on them except white electro paint. The windows and doors are installed with high quality caulking and flashing. The wall panels are carefully stacked flat, banded in bundles, and wrapped in waterproof
plastic for shipment and loaded into shipping containers or onto flat bed trucks.
Q. What is included in the house / building package?
A. Brief specification of panel's;
Exterior walls to be 3 1/8" thick, 5/16" Hardy-Board both faces or aluminum, bonded to 2.5" EPS core. Joinery to be 3". wide-galvanized steel strips, two, at each joint. Fasteners to be self drilling screws. Fasteners for roof to walls to be through SS bolts, with washers. Roof panels to be 3". and 4". thick as shown on Rapid drawing. Aluminum faces bonded to EPS core. Elite includes all extrusions per prepared bill of fasteners, calking, exterior textured coating, panels as shown, to be cut to size in the field, as ridge beam for roof and fascia. Elite is supplying materials for walls and roof only, 2 exterior doors, windows, plans, electric chase in the walls & up to 4 day, on site installation assistance. The rest of your hardware, foundation, interior partitions, plumbing, electrical is to be supplied by others. Thus saving you more money.
Q. What types of roofs can I get on my building?
Straight gable , (no hips), 2-12 to 5-12 and of course a flat roof.
Q. What do I need to supply?
A. Everything else including, but not limited to, the foundation, plumbing, electrical, heating, bathroom & electrical fixtures, chalking, tile, carpet, appliances, nails, glue, regular & textured paint's, roofing material (shingles or dimensional tiles, cabinets, finish flooring, and countertops. And of course the land, utility connections, permits, site plan, engineering stamps, and the labor and equipment to unload the trucks and put it all together.
Q. What kind of windows come with it?
A. Almost any kind you want. The standard brand we use is Metro Dade County
approved single hung or rolling slider and has a lifetime warranty, but we also
will install many brands including impact windows & doors.
Q. What kind of hurricane protection come with it?
A. Again, almost any kind you want. The standard brand we use is Metro Dade County approved Aluminum and also has a lifetime warranty, but we also will install many types including Accordion panels & rolldowns.
Q. Can I do it myself?
A. Many people with basic carpentry skills and tools have built the Elite Prefab Homes
& buildings and saved a lot of money acting as owner-builders or their own general contractor. Most people hire subcontractors to do the technical parts such as the foundation, plumbing and electrical.
Bottom line and I'm not trying to be funny:
If you can read a level, operate a screw gun, calk gun & put texture or paint on a wall then, you could be all dried in with the roof and walls in just a couple of days with four
guys staying on it.
Q. How long does it take to put the house/building together?
A. If you stayed on it with four people you could:
1) Form it & pour your slab in a day or two.
2) Install your walls & roof in a day or two.
3) Do the electric & plumbing in a day each.
4) Put interior walls in 2 or 3 days.
5) Paint it & landscape it.
Sounds easy, right? You bet it is!
Q. How much do the home packages cost?
A. They are usually $41.75 per sq. ft., including 3 sets of detailed plans. Prices are plus local sales taxes in Florida. Call or email for a price list on our stock plans as seen on the website. How to calculate your cost for your Elite Prefab Home building project.
Average 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1000 sq.ft. @ $41.75 a sq.ft. = $41,750.00
Now add your foundation, electric and so on.
Q. What kind of machinery is used to unload the trucks and hoist the walls?
A. We usually use a 5,000 lb. capacity telescoping boom, or extended reach
forklift. These are used to unload the truck and do all of the heavy lifting of
the wall and roof panels. Most rental yards have them. The owner or builder
is responsible for renting this and having it on site when the truck arrives.
Q. How will I know how to put the house together?
A. The house package arrives with a plan marked with the exact location
of every panel and each panel is clearly marked with its location.
We also have an instruction booklet which you can review before the
house arrives, and your Elite Prefab Homes Representative, will be on site when the
first truck arrives and available to answer any questions you may have
about "The Elite Prefab Homes System."
Q. Do you sell to contractors?
A. Yes, we have many contractors who only build with Elite Prefab Homes Systems
because they know the savings in on-site labor costs enables them to build
at lower costs and still provide a higher quality house than is generally
being built by their competitors. Elite Prefab Homes can offer special discounts
to builders.
Q. Where do you ship Elite Prefab Home System?
A. Anywhere, including Japan and China.
Q. How much does it cost for Elite Prefab Homes to do custom plans?
A. There is a 10% deposit (up to a 2,000 SF home) which is fully credited
back to the purchase price when you order the home.
Q. What if I already have a set of plans?
A. Send us your plans and we will quote a price to build that building / house.
We often work from plans done by local architects and designers.
Q. Do you do duplexes, triplexes, apartment buildings, commercial buildings,
barns, workshops, garages, granny units, or motels?
A. Yes, all of the above. We even have some stock plans for multiple units.
Q. Could you send me some pictures of finished homes and floorplans,
along with any other promotional material.
A. Please print our web pages.
